2009-09-03 [Elmiira]: I'm waiting impatiently for the next round to start.. :) I hope it will be more active then.. just a suggestion. I think you could remove some of the own ones, and make it just the five themes and one or two free choises. or even less of the themes as well, though I like the themes most. Lessen the amount so that people would have more time per one and they would perhaps try to get things done, as there isn't so much to do. And also keep the themes fairly simple. These ones were okay but for example ballroom clory is hard, because not many have ball dresses hanging around. (I would have a perfect outfit for that though :D) But it's your competition, so you rules. I'm going to take part anyway :P

Uploading to another commercial site, which is what polyvore is, is not personal use. I believe it would be alright to make a wiki with the outfits here on elftown as part of your project however, if people are willing to do that. But very few of the companies allow such usage so you would have to track down the terms of use for each company which you wanted to include an item from in the collection of clothes.

Honestly I think your original idea of having people do their own sets using what they have, can borrow and be creative with makes a lot more sense, as anyone can cut pics out of a catalog or grab them from a website, legal or not. And what does that tell you about their creativeness? Not a lot.

How about we get some folks to really promote this thing, do it properly and see if we can get folks like [Hedda], [sweet.tx.tea], [Cillamoon], [Nioniel] , heck, even me, to put some stuff up and put it on the front page, and in the contest list?

I then decided, to try and promote more people to enter, that they could use a site like polyvore to create "ideal" outfits that maybe they'd like to won someday. I wasn't aware that people were so widely mis-using the site and pictures everywhere.

It's more like an inspiration tool. Along with websites like Tumblr, and Ffffound. So that's quite depressing to hear. Quite, quite, quite.

For instance, I love the website modcloth (a clothing store), and I like using polyvore to assemble outfits, because it's hard for me to put things together in my head. I'd never use the site to steal someone's work, however.

2010-08-04 [▲.]: Mmn. It's upsetting to hear that artwork is stolen. --Also, [Skydancer] the Clip Tool restricts artworks being clipped from dA. So I believe that problem has been alleviated. (Thank goodness.) It also can't clip from places like Flickr, Photobucket, etc. Places with copyrighted material.

Also, I would encourage making what Polyvore calls "Real Life Sets" here. I think they'll look nice, and it requires more creativity from ET members here.
